Creating a Split-Screen Video with the Movavi Video Editor

While you may already be able to tweak and adjust some parts of your videos in a very basic way  odds are you probably regard creating split-screen videos as being a step further. Generally speaking, the split-screen effect is often regarded as a more advanced video effect, and most people expect it to be that much harder to pull off.

Although that may be true from a certain standpoint, the fact of the matter is that with the Movavi Video Editor you shouldn’t have too much trouble creating a split-screen video nor will you require a specific split screen software. As a matter of fact, all you need to do is:

Add the videos that you want to use in your split-screen video by clicking on the Add Media Files button and selecting them.

Both videos will appear by default in the Timeline and on the Main Video Track. Drag and drop one of the videos to the area above that, and in doing so youll create an Overlay Track.

Double-click the video that you just placed in the Overlay Track to enter the editing mode.

Open the list above the Preview window and select the Side by side option to create the split-screen effect.

Decide and set where you want to video that is in the Main Video Track to play by selecting one of the four buttons beside the list.

Click Apply to finalize the effect.

Fix the sound (since the audio from all the videos will play simultaneously) by muting the audio tracks that you dont need. If you want you could even mute all the audio tracks and add a new audio file to be used instead.

Click Export to save the video when youre satisfied.

Thats really all that it takes to create a split-screen video with the Movavi Video Editor. If you like you could explore its other features to cut and combine video segments, enhance the video quality, add customizable text, insert stylish animated transitions, and much more.

With so many options at your fingertips, you will really have total control over your videos appearance and can choose from a range of options to make sure it turns out perfectly. At the end of the day, having such tools at your disposal will allow you to realize any vision you may have for your videos.
